I’m Murf, the founder and flavor technician behind Burnt Sky. My path to hot sauce wasn't a straight line; it was a decade long obsession with the science of taste.
Before I ever harvested my first Reaper, I spent eight years as a professional brewer, obsessing over fermentation and aromatic balance. That followed years in vineyards and wine cellars, managing the delicate chemistry of wine. Even my earlier roots in the film industry play a part, shaping the independent artsy vision that defines our brand’s aesthetic.
I’ve traded the brew kettle and the cellar for a garden full of Ghost and Chocolate Habanero peppers, but the mission remains the same: crafting a product that is layered, intentional, and complex. When I’m not refining profiles or hitting markets along the CT shoreline, I’m at home in the Quiet Corner with my wife, Amanda, and our five-year-old daughter.
Burnt Sky is the culmination of every vintage, every batch, and every frame of my career. I’m glad you’re here for the next chapter.
